- When my son started kindergarten, his dad and I decided that we would take him out of school for a trip-around-the-world after elementary school – he had started early because he'd already been reading for a couple years, but we figured he'd be a bit young to enter middle school with his classmates, when all the hormones 'n such start kicking in. We were right. He's now showing his (young) age, but has also gotten so invested and excited as we've talked about our plans over the years, we couldn't turn back now if we wanted to! So here we go – leaving from our Seattle home in September 2009, and returning sometime during the summer of 2010. World, here we come!
